Muslim world destined for greater interference in Obama's second term

"The Arab revolts amply demonstrate that America uses the armies to control the outcome of the democratic elections and counter rebels. So the real agents of change are the armies of the Muslim world and nothing else. If Muslims truly want to bring about a permanent change in their political lives then they will have to get the armies loyal to America and other Western powers to switch sides."

Celebrating Iqbal's Birthday

"Not being a practical politician himself, it was the genius of the Allama who not only ‘discovered’ the most appropriate person for the job in the person of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the man to become the future Quaid-e-Azam of the nation. He gave Mr. Jinnah the realization that he had the competence of doing that Himalayan task and would come up to the expectation of the Muslims of the Subcontinent. It is incumbent upon each one of us who enjoys a free life in a free environment of a free country should be deeply obliged to that great man of our history."

Goodbye to a War

"The split was exacerbated by the Tea Party fanatics. It seems that every few generations the American nation is afflicted by a new wave of insanity – the anti-Anarchist hysteria after WWI, McCarthy after WWII, the Tea Party now. To its immense credit, America has a knack of overcoming these waves. But the Tea Party killed Romney, in spite of all his desperate flip-flopping."

Syria's Assad Warns of Apocalyptic War

"Even without envisaging any foreign intervention and the domino effect it will have on the region and on the world as President Bashar Assad predicts, Syria is being eroded from within and without by different forces which have mobilized despite the rift in their ideologies but each with a unique agenda. The tug of war in Syria has long started and there is an immediate danger of engaging the entire region in this bloody broil."

Will unshackled politicians deliver peace in Palestine?

"An unshackled US president along with Palestinian leaders yearning for peace can be a perfect formula for progress in this century-old conflict. No case can enable the reelected president to etch his legacy and be remembered in history more than the Palestinian case."

Argo: From Hollywoodism to Iranophobia

"Strange as it might be, the film ingeniously seeks to sound balanced by inserting a voice-over at the beginning of the film describing how the popular government of Mossadegh was overthrown through a coup engineered by the CIA and how Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (who is erroneously referred to as Reza Pahlavi) tyrannized over people. However, the mere mention of a CIA-engineered coup is not enough to make the film sound balanced. In fact, Argo is a far cry from a balanced narration. Everything is narrated one-sidedly. Everything is depicted in black and white."

Genocide of the Rohingyas of Myanmar

"Unfortunately, the attitude of the powerful nations towards the Rohingya problem is a reminiscent of the Nazi era; they refuse to see and hear the obvious truth. It is simply immoral and inexcusable. They are buying and parroting the Myanmar regime's argument, that the conflict is basically two-sided with two large racial groups attacking each other. This is a false equivalence. When all the townships that are burning, and refugees, are from one side – the Rohingya, and when renowned activists, Buddhist monks, and local Rakhine politicians and students are using language reminiscent of the Nazi propaganda, something truly catastrophic is underway seeking "final solution" of the Rohingya problem. Nothing can hide this ugly truth!"

Das System

"The subtext of the agreement is that the two parties will soon become one, that Lieberman will succeed Netanyahu as the leader of the entire right-wing, and that we may see him in a few weeks time as the almighty Minister of Defense, with his finger on the conventional and nuclear triggers, and, even more frightening, as the sole governor of the Palestinian occupied territories."
